A color I have learned to love and appreciate more than almost any other as I've grown up. It used to be one of my least favorite colors in the crayon box. Well, nowhere near as bad as that "burnt sienna" but still, I didn't think it was pretty. Now, I love it. We still seem to be living in a world of bare brown branches and drab looking evergreen trees but if you look closely, very closely, you can see that the new life is there. The tiny new bright green leaves are finally starting to show themselves. I haven't seen any tulips yet but daffodils are poking out here and there and I'm sure that SPU has been properly decorated with brightly colored primroses.
I don't know whether or not I feel like this around this time every year but my goodness, will winter never end? I am clinging to these tiny signs of spring. I may or may not sit and stare at the new leaves that grow on my potted hydrangea. A couple of the leaves started to shrivel the other day (lack of sunlight! I think I might be shrivelling as well.) and I kind of freaked out a little. I think that little plant has been giving me hope that things really will grow back again. Sigh. Fortunately, we've seen a bit more of the sun lately. I've worn my sunglasses on my drive home everyday this past week. Woohoo!
Hope spring is treating you well. Happy Easter friends!
